The programme will run for four weeks long and interns will get paid £300 per week.
Those eligible to apply for the Teaching Internship Programme must be either currently studying a STEM related degree or have STEM related A Levels and can be in any year of their degree. Interns will be placed in our Partnership Schools across the North East of England and North Yorkshire.
The programme itself will provide undergraduates the opportunity to experience a range of activities to help them get a feel for school life including:
- classroom experience, which could include: assisting with lessons and providing subject support to pupils
- shadowing experienced teachers and observing lessons, followed by a chance to jointly plan and deliver lessons
- one-to-one guidance from outstanding classroom teachers
- opportunities to network with qualified subject specialists
