Gateshead Schools Direct is part of the Carmel Teacher Training Partnership, working as a Lead Partner to deliver school-based teacher training in partnership with St. Mary’s University, Twickenham, in the Gateshead, Newcastle and the surrounding area.

Gateshead Schools Direct partners with over 100 schools across the North East. Click for our map of schools. Our courses immerse you in one of our partner schools, allowing you to experience every aspect of teaching and develop relationships that often lead to future employment for many of our trainees.
How to Apply
Applications are now OPEN for our teacher training course places starting in September 2025. You can apply through the government portal. Follow the steps below on how to apply.
